ADC Guiding Principles for Base Redevelopment

For a community, base closure is more than a real estate transaction; it is about people, their jobs, and a way of life—it is a true community issue. Planning for life after closure must be a community-driven process. Based on ADC’s more than 30 years of providing support, knowledge and experience to defense communities, ADC offers these guiding principles (38 Kb PDF).


ADC’s Base Redevelopment Resources

LRA Directors Council
This ADC membership council brings together LRA Directors from closure communities to create a forum for interaction and idea sharing. The group ac¬tively advises ADC on programs designed for LRA Directors and BRAC communities.

State of Base Redevelopment Report (1.2 Mb PDF)
ADC launched an ambitious long-term project to track and report the success and challenges of base redevelopment around the country. Data collected from member communities and other sources will be used to create an annual report that highlights key trends, best practices, and overall progress. Defense Community Resource Center

Defense Community Awards
This national awards competition recognizes the achievements of communities with active and closed military installations, the individuals that lead them and members of the military and private sector. Awards are given in the following categories:
