Pentagon officials released a five-phase plan on Tuesday to “return to normal operations,” Defense One reports.
Currently the DOD is at “Phase 0” and is awaiting more data to ease restrictions. The Pentagon has been operating at 20 percent its normal capacity since pandemic social distancing restrictions were enacted.
Officials say that the Pentagon’s 22,000 employees could be able to return to work within six weeks. Pentagon and surrounding defense-related facilities have reported 152 positive coronavirus cases, McClatchy DC reports.
“So far, we are counting about eight days of solid data and we are still in a downward regression, so right now that’s where things stand, but we’ve got a ways to go,” said Pentagon Chief Management Officer Lisa Hershman.
