The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund has opened its eighth on-base facility to treat service members with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. The new facility at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is the first at an Air Force base, according to a press release.

“Our military heroes who fight to protect our freedoms, deserve the best care available, and being close to their family and having their support is imperative to the recovery process,” said Arnold Fisher, honorary chairman of the nonprofit organization that funds the centers and gifts them to DOD. “We are now one step closer to completing our mission of building Intrepid Spirit Centers around the United States.”

The other facilities are at Fort Belvoir, Va., Camp Lejeune, N.C., Fort Campbell, Ky., Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Bragg, N.C., Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., and Camp Pendleton, Calif.
