Over 1 Million Tricare Beneficiaries Eligible for COVID-19 Vaccine

January 19, 2021

Military retiree and spouses over the age of 75 who are Tricare for Life beneficiaries are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, but supply varies on location and availability, Military Times reports.

Officials say that recipients should contact their local military hospital or clinic, and refer to the institution’s media outlets for updated status of vaccination availability.

Other states have opened up vaccinations to individuals 65 and older, but this is dependent on underlying medical conditions.

In addition to people over 75 and those with underlying conditions, the vaccination is a priority to: individuals providing direct medical care; individuals maintaining essential installation functions; and deploying forces.

According to the TRICARE COVID-19 vaccination website “the vaccines will be more broadly available in the coming months.”
