March 23, 2021

A new mobile application released by the Department of Defense aims to help the military community relieve their stress.

The Chill Drills app is offered free to service members and their families and offers a variety of mindfulness techniques to slow one’s heartrate, lower blood pressure and improve sleep quality.

“Life in the military comes with many opportunities and also unique challenges, so managing stress is critical,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy Patricia “Patty” Montes Barron. “The Department of Defense is thrilled to deliver one of our most popular and highly-requested web products in the form of a new mobile application, so the military community can regenerate and be well anytime and anywhere.”

Chill Drills is the second app recently launched by the Department of Defense to improve quality of life related issues. The other is the My Military OneSource mobile app, which offers information on areas including personalized military benefits and military community guides.
