Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) plans to use a mix of state funds and federal stimulus funds to make renovations at Guard armories throughout the state. The projects would address inequities between women’s facilities and men’s facilities. “Women are a growing segment of the population stepping up to serve our state and nation, and the facilities available to them should match this commitment,” she said in a press release.

The University of Texas at Arlington ranks number one in the latest Military Times list of veteran-friendly colleges and universities.
