PFAS-contaminated groundwater from at least nine military installations near the Chesapeake Bay has seeped into the bay and is threatening fish, the Environmental Working Group said in a new report….

The Air Force has installed and tested a new water filtration system near Luke Air Force Base, Arizona to ensure the drinking water has PFAS levels that meet EPA standards, according to an Air Force news story. “This represents the Air Force acting quickly to address a potential imminent risk to public health,” said Cindy Cash of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center. “Now we are conducting extensive field work to better understand where we are and where we need to be.”…

Installation leaders at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas recently cut the ribbon on a $9.3 million upgrade to its Exchange shopping center, according to a DOD story. “It’s much bigger and has a greater selection,” one shopper said. “This will be a big morale booster for everyone here on the installation.”
