Annual OLDCC Study Shows State-by-State Breakdown of Defense Spending

Texas remains by far the state where DOD spends the most money, according to the newest annual state-by-state report from the Office of Local Defense Community Collaboration. The federal government spends $83 billion in personnel and contracting in Texas. Of that, $71 billion goes toward contracts.

In personnel costs, Virginia ranks at the top of the list. DOD spends $19.4 billion on personnel in the commonwealth.

The report includes breakdowns of where and how federal defense money is spent in each state. The individual state reports are also available here.
