The Senate Armed Services Committee is tentatively set to question Adm. Christopher Grady on Dec. 2, Politico reported in its National Security Daily newsletter. The Fleet Forces commander is nominated to become the new vice chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Gen. John Hyten is retiring as vice chair Nov. 21. Senators on both sides of the aisle said they will act quickly to minimize the amount of time the position is vacant, Politico wrote. Senators were also openly critical of President Biden’s delay in nominating Hyten’s replacement.
