Oklahoma Air National Guard members who refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine will effectively be removed from Guard service, Military Times reported, citing a DOD memo. “[T]he secretary of the Air Force hereby withdraws consent for members not fully vaccinated to be placed on or to continue on previously issued Title 32 Active Guard and Reserve orders,” Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall wrote in a memo signed Tuesday, referring to the code that covers the drill and training requirements Guard members must complete to serve. Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) has said his state will not enforce a federal mandate that all service members be vaccinated….

The New York National Guard has deployed 120 Army medics and Air Force medical technicians to 12 nursing homes and long-term care facilities in the state to help ease staffing shortages, according to a DOD story.
