The Senate overwhelmingly passed the National Defense Authorization Wednesday, sending the legislation to President Biden, who is expected to sign it.
The bill faced political and procedural hurdles along the way, but in the end, Congress maintained its streak by passing the annual bill 61 years in a row.
The NDAA authorizes up to $768 billion for defense and national security, though appropriators will also have a say in how much to spend and how.
