New Mexico is asking National Guard members and other state workers to fill in as substitute teachers amid a national omicron-related teacher shortage, the Albuquerque Journal reported. “Our kids, our teachers and our parents deserve as much stability as we can provide during this time of uncertainty, and the state stands ready to help,” Gov. The Marine Corps will deactivate 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines Friday during a ceremony at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, as Task & Purpose reported. Lt. Gen. James W. Bierman, commander of III Marine Expeditionary Force, said it is hard to say goodbye to the storied Island Warriors, “a unit that has so completely defined the experience of being a Marine. Take solace in the fact that the proud and positive memories and the strong relationships will endure.”…
