The area around Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis is the first site in Texas to get national Sentinel Landscape recognition, opening new financial resources to protect mission readiness, enhance agricultural productivity and advance conservation in multiple counties, according to a press release and the San Antonio Express-News. The Alamo Area Council of Governments, Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute and Hill Country Alliance have been working together since 2020 to expand conservation funding for the region….

The city of Marina, California plans to tear down dozens of military barracks and other facilities from the former Fort Ord to “turn them into spaces that people and families will use,” KSBW TV reported. The project is one of several updates being funded by the Fort Ord Reuse Authority.
