House NDAA Amendments Face Rules Committee Scrutiny

July 12, 2022

The House Rules Committee today will consider which amendments to make in order when the House debates the National Defense Authorization Act the rest of the week.

More than 1,000 amendments have been submitted. Some of them would lower the authorized spending level, give the D.C. mayor authority over the D.C. National Guard, stop the discharge of anti-vaccine service members, require drinking water PFAS standards, and place a moratorium on the transfer of military weapons to local law enforcement agencies.

The Rules Committee typically allows fewer than half of the amendments to move on to the floor.

The House is expected to pass the NDAA by the end of the week. Follow ADC’s past and upcoming NDAA coverage here.
