Stopgap Bill Starts Moving

September 28, 2022

The Senate passed a procedural vote Tuesday night 72-23, the first step in passing a short-term continuing resolution. The stopgap spending bill now appears likely to get through the Senate and the House in time for the President’s signature before the fiscal year ends Friday night.

The bill includes more money for Ukraine aid and to replenish the munitions the U.S. has already sent.

The CR would run through mid-December.
