A group of pro-Russian hackers took credit for crashing the websites of several major U.S. airports Monday, as NPR and other outlets reported. The attacks didn’t impact flights, but it’s another reminder that there are national security vulnerabilities in an increasingly connected world.

Cybersecurity is one of dozens of issues to be discussed at ADC’s Installation Innovation 2022, taking place Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 in Phoenix.

A day-two session, “Shields Up! Hardening Critical Infrastructure in a Connected World,” will cover DOD “directives and guidelines issued this year focused on infrastructure cybersecurity and needed action at all levels, and what they will mean for installations and communities,” according to the forum agenda.

The session’s speakers are David Forbes, principal at Booz Allen Hamilton, and Lucian Niemeyer, CEO and board chair of Building Cyber Security.

Check out the Installation Innovation site for details on more sessions and what else to expect in Phoenix.
