Bipartisan Congressional Delegation Visits Ukraine, Says More Support Needed

A bipartisan group of House members returned from a trip to Kyiv saying the U.S. needs to send more weapons support, The Hill reported.

“They are… able to fight for themselves,” Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), the leader of the delegation said of Ukrainians Monday. “If we give them the resources, they will win the fight.”

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) said the trip assured him that the Biden administration and Ukrainian government are committed to being transparent about how U.S. assistance is being spent, The Hill story said.

“We will have the accountability which is necessary to assure the taxpayers of America that their tax money has been well used to actually, from my perspective, ultimately defend the people of the United States,” Wilson said.
