Senate Sends NDAA to Biden for Signature

December 16, 2022

The Senate completed work Thursday on the 2022 defense authorization bill, allowing for the $858 billion in defense spending that lawmakers are expected to include in an upcoming spending bill.

The White House expressed disappointment with the NDAA provision reversing the Pentagon’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, but President Biden is expected to sign the NDAA, which also includes the largest military pay raise in 20 years.

This year’s NDAA is named for retiring Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), the top Republican on – and former chair of – the Armed Services Committee.
