Some DOD Nominees Confirmed; Key EI&E Roles Remain Open

The Senate this week confirmed several DOD nominations, including:

  • Milancy Harris to be deputy undersecretary of defense
  • Franklin Parker to be assistant secretary of the Navy
  • Russell Rumbaugh to be assistant secretary of the Navy (financial management and comptroller)
  • Agnes Schaefer to be assistant secretary of the Army for manpower and reserve affairs

But senators adjourned for the year before voting on several other long-stalled nominations, including:

  • Brendan Owens to be assistant secretary of defense for energy, installations and environment
  • Ravi Chaudhary to be assistant secretary of the Air Force for energy, installations and environment
  • Radha Iyengar Plumb to be deputy undersecretary of defense
  • Lester Martinez-Lopez to be assistant secretary of defense for health affairs
  • Laura Taylor-Kale to be assistant secretary of defense for industrial policy
