Gretchen Whitmer (D) signed a bill to expand tuition assistance benefits to National Guard members’ spouses and dependents, The Detroit News reported. “Getting this done will open doors for so many more people to get on paths to higher education and good-paying, in-demand jobs without a lifetime of debt,” Whitmer said….

Marine Air Corps Station Beaufort, South Carolina, will be able to address erosion near the base’s housing, thanks to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association grant to The Nature Conservancy, Military.com reported. “Were here for a reason — to train pilots,” said Gary Herndon, the installation’s natural and cultural resources manager. “The only way we can do that is being responsible stewards of the land.”
