The Hunter Army Airfield Warrior Restaurant Near Savannah, Georgia has seen a nearly 600% increase in diners after a full renovation to modernize culinary services, according to a DVIDS story. “The Army plans to modernize all of its dining facilities with a college-campus dining concept, but we were chosen to pilot it, so for now, this is the only one of its kind,” said Sgt. 1st Class Gerrick C. Smith II, the restaurant manager….

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration this month recognized the Installation Supply and Service Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington as a workplace safety “Star” employer in the agency’s Voluntary Protection Programs, according to a DOL release. The division employs around 80 people and “exemplifies what management and unions can accomplish when they work together for workers’ safety and health,” said OSHA Regional Administrator Dorinda Hughes….

Politico is launching a new daily newsletter on climate change’s impact on California. “Nowhere in America is this story playing out in more ways and at as fast a pace as it is in California,” Politico said in a note on the newsletter subscription site. “We’ll use this newsletter to make sense of how California’s response to climate change is shaping the future – across industry and government and across politics and policy.” The first edition will be delivered Aug. 14.
