The Senate Armed Services Committee approved the nomination of Navy Adm. Lisa Franchetti to become the next chief of naval operations and Air Force Gen. David Allvin to become the next Air Force chief of staff, Stars and Stripes reported.
Their nominations are now before the full Senate, but they join a list of hundreds of nominees and promotion candidates being blocked by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) in protest of the Pentagon’s abortion access policy.
