NDAA Conferees Could Complete Bill This Week

November 28, 2023

Conferees could agree to the final version of the fiscal year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act as soon as Thursday, Punchbowl News reported this morning.

“There are a number of things that need to be fixed,” said Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee. “But things are moving.”

The House-passed and Senate-passed versions of the bill were drastically different, with the House version loaded down with conservative policy provisions. Punchbowl reported some of those issues are still being discussed but that progress is being made.

Defense News looked at some of the major provisions the conference committee has been discussing.
