The House Armed Services Committee approved its version of the National Defense Authorization Act Wednesday. The committee’s bill is focused largely on military quality of life improvements, as On Base reported.

It includes a 4.5% raise for service members. E-1s through E-4s would get another 15% on top of that. It also calls for increasing the Basic Allowance for Housing from 95% of housing costs to 100%, Military.com reported.
