Senate Appropriators to Begin Markups this Week

July 8, 2024

The Senate Appropriations Committee will meet this week to consider the first three of its spending bills for fiscal year 2025, including the military construction and VA bill. The hearing will be live-streamed Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time.

No date had been announced for the committee’s consideration of the defense spending bill by late last week.

The House has passed three appropriations bills and will mark up six more in committee this week.

The two parties have not agreed on top-line spending levels for defense and non-defense.
