Six Installations Receive Excellence Awards

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced the 2024 recipients of the Commander in Chief’s Annual Award for Installation Excellence, according to a press release. The six recipients were recognized for their outstanding support of Department of Defense missions:

  • S. Army Garrison Fort Cavazos, Texas
  • Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina
  • Naval Air Station Whiting Field, Florida and Alabama
  • Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho
  • Patrick Space Force Base, Florida
  • Defense Supply Center Columbus, Ohio

“Excellent installations enable better mission performance and enhance the working and living conditions for military men and women, DOD civilians and their families,” the release said. “Each of the winning installations succeeded at being the best in performing installation management within their military service and the Defense Logistics Agency.”

They will each receive a trophy, flag and congratulatory letter from the President.
