Army to Stand Up Four New Boot Camp Companies

In a sign that Army recruitment is looking better than in recent years, the service is adding four new basic training commands – two at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and two at Fort Sill, Oklahoma – as Task & Purpose reported.

Army Secretary Christine Wormuth has told lawmakers that the Army appeared on track to meet its lowered goal of 55,000 recruits this fiscal year.

“We are doing some things to leverage better data to give our recruiters stronger leads, and we’re looking at how to break into the college market,” Wormuth said in April.
