Maryland Governor Partners with Hidden Heroes to Support Military Caregivers

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has pledged support for the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, which will go to support 150,000 military caregivers, according to a press release. The Elizabeth Dole Foundation supports military caregivers by addressing important issues and bringing together a community of similar workers. “Military and veteran caregivers are just as much a part of the American story as those who put on the uniform,” Moore said.

DOL Awards Fort Bliss Funding for Transition Services

The Department of Labor reported that the Fort Bliss, Texas area was the recipient of more than $1.5 million to invest in transition services for displaced military members. The awardee is Workforce Solutions Borderplex, which works in six counties, and provides retraining and skill development for military members transitioning into civilian careers and displaced current military members.

Georgia Veterans Receive Laptop Donations

Central Georgia Technical College foundation and the Georgia Veterans Career Transition Resource received a donation of 25 laptops from Green Veterans and their partner, General Motors, according to the Houstin Home Journal. Green Veterans takes discarded, high-quality computers from businesses, fixes them and donates them to veterans. This specific donation will go toward helping veterans develop technology and find a place in the workforce.
