Air Force Fights EPA Order to Clean Up Groundwater in Arizona

Lawyers for the Air Force are fighting an emergency order from the Environmental Protection Agency that would require the service to clean up contaminated drinking water in the Tucson, Arizona area, Military.com reported.

Mississippi Allows Military Families to Pick School of Choice

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R) has signed legislation making it easier for military families to choose which nearby school district they want their students to attend, as WAPT reported. “Starting a new school every two to three years, having to make new friends, and this bill just gives parents the flexibility to put them in schools that are the best fit for them,” Air Force Col. Jayson Cabell said.

Missouri Community Watches Pilots Train

Community members near Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri gathered recently to watch pilots practice simulated air-to-ground combat. According to an Army story,1,500 spectators came out to watch the drill as eight A-10 Thuderbolts targeted 700 different objects while being tracked by a computer grading system. “Lots of people say they see the planes all the time but just don’t know where they are going or what they are doing,” Air Force Master Sgt. Thomas Davis said. “This allows the opportunity to experience it for themselves.”
