Arizona Base Partners with DoD to Release Documentary

The Fort Huachuca Sentinel Landscape in Arizona has released a documentary on its work through DOD’s Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) program, REPI announced. The sentinel landscape partnership has focused on community-centered solutions to water conservation, habitat restoration and more. Watch the documentary.

Invasive Python Hunt in Florida Provides Jobs, Community for Veterans

In the Florida Everglades, state-sponsored removal efforts of Burmese pythons, who have been a threat to the local environment for decades, have been championed by the non-profit Swamp Apes. This group brings together veterans in the area to use their military expertise to humanely kill the invasive animals to protect the ecosystem, CNN reported. The community provided by Swamp Apes has also helped many veterans find a fulfilling purpose outside of serving in the military.
