OLDCC Announces DCIP Award Finalists

August 8, 2024

The DOD Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation said yesterday on its website that 14 Defense Community Infrastructure Program proposals have moved to the next stage of the grant process.

The 14 proposers invited to present more information are communities connected to:

  • March Air Reserve Base, California
  • Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, Detachment Fallbrook, California
  • U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado
  • Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado
  • Naval Station Mayport, Florida
  • Joint Base Marianas, Guam
  • Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois
  • Fort Johnson, Louisiana
  • Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota
  • Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, Ohio
  • Philadelphia Navy Yard Annex, Pennsylvania
  • Fort Cavazos, Texas
  • Fort Bliss, Texas
  • Kitsap Naval Base, Washington

The program is designed to enhance infrastructure supporting local military installations, benefiting service members, their families and departmental missions. The selected projects span various states and territories, addressing critical needs such as water supply, power reliability, emergency response and logistical connectivity.

OLDCC is awarding up to $100 million in the current fiscal year, the amount authorized and appropriated by Congress. Congress is currently working on the fiscal year 2025 appropriations. The House seems on track to allocate $50 million for DCIP, and Senate appropriators included $110 million for the program, but neither chamber has completed defense appropriations legislation for next year.
