VA Grants Would Help Communities Support Separating Service Members

Government entities and nonprofits can apply for a Department of Veterans Affairs grant to support transition services for separating service members, according to a Grants.gov notice.

“Veterans and dependents report significant challenges when transitioning from military to civilian life,” the notice says. “These grants will be awarded to eligible organizations that provide employment-based resources and tools, to help these veterans and spouses overcome employment and financial challenges.”

The application window for the Veteran and Spouse Transitional Assistance Grant Program closes Aug. 23.
