Razom for Ukraine, a group that backs funding Ukraine in its defense against Russia is urging lawmakers to extend the administration’s authority to send economic and weapons support to Ukraine, Politico reported.

“At the current pace at which the United States provides Ukraine aid under [Presidential Drawdown Authority], approximately $5.7 billion will expire unused at the end of FY 2024,” Razom’s Director of Advocacy Mykola Murskyj wrote in a Wednesday letter to top appropriators. “Preventing the expiration of PDA would enable the U.S. to continue to provide Ukraine with the tools it needs to prevail against Russia’s invasion.”

Lawmakers returning to D.C. next week will try to agree on a continuing resolution to keep all government funding flowing past the end of the month, when the fiscal year ends.

Austin, Brown in Germany for Meeting on Ukraine

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. CQ Brown are traveling to Ramstein Air Base in Germany today for a Friday meeting of the U.S.-led Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
