Ellsworth B-1s Move to North Dakota to Make Room for Incoming B-21s

17 B-1 Bombers are being relocated from Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota to Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota, according to Air and Space Forces Magazine. This move coincides with the arrival of new B-21 Raiders coming to Ellsworth soon. The shift could send 800 airmen to Grand Forks, returning the base to its history of serving B-1s that ended in 1994.

Alaskan National Guard Avoids Leveling Cuts

The Alaska Air National Guard has been exempted from the Guard’s “fulltime leveling” plan, saving nearly 80 Guard members, Anchorage Daily News reported. The exemption came after hard campaigning by the Alaska congressional delegation to keep Alaska out of the planned cuts because of their unique position and value to the nation’s defense strategy.

Pennsylvania Ammunition Production Increases to Supply Ukraine

Ammunition plants in Pennsylvania have increased production of 155mm rounds by 50%, Associated Press reported. The artillery shells are in high demand in the war in Ukraine, and production will continue to increase to meet it.
