Pendleton, State Keep Beach Open to Public

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and California State Parks signed a last-minute lease to keep San Onofre Beach open to the public, according to Times of San Diego. The lease allows the navy and marine corps land to be operated by the state, allowing citizens to continue to use it as a park. The park attracts 2.5 million visitors annually and will now remain open for the next 25 years.

Las Vegas Medical Center Provides Medical Training for Air Force

The University Medical Center in Las Vegas has forged a partnership with local Air Force bases to give military medical providers active training in a supervised environment. The program allows members who aren’t often in crisis scenarios to keep emergency preparedness skills sharp, EMS1 reported.
