First Mission for NV Guard’s Partnership with Samoa

The Nevada National Guard completed its first exchange mission with Samoa, its new partner nation, the US Indo-Pacific Command reported. The mission was focused on medical training and best practices for pre-hospital care, including lung and brain trauma. “The entire exchange was a great success,” said Staff Sgt. Mason Burkhart, a Nevada Army National Guard flight paramedic.

Army Corps Planning New Training Center in Pennsylvania

The US Army Corps of Engineers announced plans to build a vehicle and training facility in North Beaver Township, Pennsylvania, New Castle News reported. The center would have two sections, an 11,000 square-yard parking lot for vehicle maintenance and a 40,000 square-foot training facility. The plan is currently being reviewed by the Army before its approval.
