New Tech Is Key to Recruitment, Brown Says

September 9, 2024

It’s important that DOD continues investing in workplace technology that helps it compete with the private sector in attracting top talent, Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. CQ Brown said last week, according to a DOD story.

“We have to invest in those right resources and be able to provide the tools to be able to execute whatever they’ve been asked to do,” Brown said at the Billington Cybersecurity Summit in Washington, D.C. “And I think from a technology perspective, because it’s in their daily lives, we’ve got to make sure we keep pace.”

Brown also said DOD must show the next generation what opportunities exist in public service.

“I believe young people only aspire [to] what they see or know about,” Brown said. “You don’t decide to grow up to be something you don’t know about.”
