The Patriot Art Foundation, a nonprofit that promotes arts opportunities for veterans, is providing a free hands-on art event for veterans Nov. 9 at multiple locations across the country and streaming online, according to the group’s website.
The event will feature watercolor instruction and supplies, along with a live demo.
It will take place aboard the USS Yorktown in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and will be simulcast to similar events at the United States Army Museum at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus, Ohio. It will also be streamed online.
Learn More about Arts for Veterans
Michael Greenberg, the finance chair of Patriot Art Foundation, will speak at a session on the final day of next week’s Installation Innovation Forum in San Antonio.
The session, “The Power of Art and Performing Art to Lift Veterans and Military Families” will discuss how “the arts provide opportunities for veterans and military families to express themselves, find purpose and joy, and develop stronger ties in their communities,” according to the event agenda.
