Massachusetts Guard Gun Range Project Shelved
A Camp Edwards machine gun range at Joint Base Cape Cod, Massachusetts has been put on hold after Gov. Maura Healey (D) announced she would not approve the construction project, according to Cape Cod Times. The range had been allocated $9.7 million from Congress for its construction. Critics of the project were concerned about the range’s place atop Sagamore Lens, the source of drinking water for the surrounding area.
Former Missouri Depot Give Funds for Redevelopment
The site of the former Hardesty Federal Complex depot in Kansas City, Missouri is on track for redevelopment after the city received $4.5 million from the Environmental Protection Agency. A local developer, the Arnold Development Group, already has plans to turn the land into housing, day care and a solar farm, according to KCTV.
