New York Base Hosts Community for Historic Tour
An Army story recently covered a tour given to community members at Fort Drum, which took the group through state-of-the-art training facilities as well as historical sites like LeRay Mansion. The tour ended with a visit to the local event center, The Peak, which houses military meetings and events. “It was so interesting to see how lovely it is, and how special it is to the military community,” community member Liz Bonisteel said after the tour.
Missile Site Plan in Guam Has 16 Possible Locations
A recent environmental impact report announced that the proposed missile defense plan for 22 locations on Guam has been narrowed to 16 finalists. Task and Purpose reported that the planned radar and interceptor system on the island will now be confined to the three bases already there. Guam’s location has made it a key focus for future strategies.
