The Pentagon once again failed to produce a clean audit, but DOD Comptroller and Chief Financial Officer Mike McCord told reporters DOD is making progress seven years after it started producing audits, Defense News reported.
“I believe the department has turned a corner in its understanding of the challenges and, more importantly, in addressing those challenges,” McCord said last week. “Momentum is on our side.”
Congress has given DOD until fiscal year 2028 to receive a clean audit from the DOD inspector general.
