Montana to Add Permanent Guard Facility in Billings
The Montana Army National Guard is building a new 50,000-square-foot aviation training and support facility near the Billings airport, KTVQ reported. The state’s only similar facility is in Helena. “The city of Billings is excited about this opportunity. It makes the most sense for eastern Montana,” Billings City Council Member Scott Aspenlieder said.
Solar Project Continues at Hanscom Housing
Hunt Military Communities announced in a press release that it was starting phase two of its solar energy project at Hanscom Air Force Base, Texas. The project would provide solar energy to more than 731 homes, allowing them to use 30% renewable energy. Homes and garages throughout the community will be outfitted with solar panels as well as a centralized battery.
