Colorado Springs Launches Discount Network for Service Members

Colorado Springs recently launched the Military Welcome website to connect active duty military and veterans with discounts from local businesses. It allows companies to register and directly inform the over 45,000 local military members of special offers and discounts.

“We also hope that by connecting service members with local businesses, we can help encourage community-building and create a network of support and unity within the city,” Small Business Development Administrator Shakanah Tedder said, according to KRDO.

Colorado Springs was designated in 2016 as a Great American Defense Community, an initiative of ADC and USAA.

First 5G Tower in the Navy Breaks Ground in Pennsylvania

Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania will be the site of the Navy’s first 5G tower, according to a DVIDS story on the recent groundbreaking. Working with Boldyn Networks and AT&T, plans like the one in Mechanicsburg have been in the making for years.
