Trump Doubles Down on Potential Military Role in Immigration Policy

President-elect Donald Trump confirmed Monday that he will use “military assets” to carry out his plan for mass deportation of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally, as ABC News reported.

Trump confirmed the plan to use presidential emergency powers in a post on Truth Social.

It’s not clear what “military assets” would be utilized, as News Nation reported. But Trump said during the presidential campaign that he would call on the National Guard and potentially active duty service members.

“On Day 1, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out,” Trump said at a Madison Square Garden campaign rally. “I will rescue every city and town that has been invaded and conquered, and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail, then kick them the hell out of our country as fast as possible.”
