New JROTC Program in Hawaii

The Coast Guard has established a JROTC program at Kalani High School in Honolulu, the first such program in Hawaii, according to a press release. “We’re exceedingly grateful to be working with the state of Hawaii Department of Education, Honolulu District, to launch this incredible partnership,” said Commander Clay Cromer, Coast Guard JROTC program manager. “We look forward to seeing cadets learn, grow and achieve in a supportive and fun learning environment.”

Former Alabama Barracks to Become Film Studio

Comedian and actor Katt Williams is purchasing barracks at the former Fort McClellan, Alabama to create a movie studio, the Anniston Star reported. Tyler Perry, a film producer, director, writer and actor, developed Tyler Perry Studios when in 2015 he purchased part of the former Fort McPherson, Georgia, in a major base redevelopment success story. “It’s just not fair to put all that pressure on Tyler Perry. He can only do so much,” Williams said, according to the report.

Shriever to House Space Force Delta 15

The Air Force said in a press release that 250 Space Force guardians with Delta 15 will be permanently based at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, The Gazette reported.
