Investor and Former Intelligence Board Adviser Is Trump’s Pick for Deputy SecDef

President-elect Donald Trump has offered billionaire investor Stephen Feinberg the role of deputy defense secretary, The Washington Post reported Tuesday. In Trump’s first term, Feinberg led the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.

Feinberg is co-CEO of Cerberus Capital Management, which has invested in hypersonic missiles and which used to own military contractor DynCorp until its 2020 sale, according to the report.

“The Pentagon is one of the largest organizations in the world, so it needs someone who can play the classic chief operations officer role at the number-two job,” the Brookings Institution’s Michael O’Hanlon told the Post.
