The Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act Wednesday by a vote of 85-14, sending the bill to the White House as Military.com reported. President Joe Biden is expected to sign it, despite some Democrats’ opposition to language that would deny certain health care to transgender youth.
The bill includes a 4.5% pay raise for military personnel and an additional 10% raise for junior enlisted officers. It also continues authorization of the Defense Community Infrastructure Program.
