Collins’ VA Nomination Hearing Delayed

January 14, 2025

Former Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) will not appear before the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee today as planned for a confirmation hearing to become VA secretary. The FBI has not completed his background check, Military Times reported.

“In accordance with long-standing practice, the committee should have an opportunity to review Congressman Collins’ FBI file before the confirmation hearing,” Committee Chair Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) said.

Collins is one of several nominees who will not have hearings before President-elect Trump is sworn in on Monday.

Hegseth Hearing this Morning
