At President Biden’s request, the Pentagon is sending resources to help fight wildfires across the Los Angeles area, as The Hill reported. DOD is sending helicopters with buckets in addition to firefighting aircraft provided by the California National Guard and the Nevada National Guard, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters.
“Right now we can’t even get assets up in the air because the fires are so bad and because the winds are so bad,” Singh said Wednesday.
At least two people had died by Wednesday afternoon.
