New Mexico Site Has Army’s First Hydrogen-Powered Nanogrid

The Army Engineer Research and Development Center recently revealed the use of the new hydrogen-powered nanogrid at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, according to an Army article. The new system will provide quiet, renewable energy without needing to be connected to a main grid, all crucial features for the missile range’s remote location. This generator is the first of its kind for the Army, which plans to introduce another hydrogen nanogrid at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri early this year.

Navy Begins Testing for PFAS in Dallas After Lawsuit from City

Dallas has been in a battle with the Navy to get it to clean the site of the former Hensley Field, resulting in a lawsuit from the city after the Navy failed to meet an agreed-upon deadline. Recently, the Navy has moved to take more than 1,000 soil samples from the site to test them for PFAS, according to Stars and Stripes. These tests will produce results in March and will inform the cleanup timeline going forward.
